A software to beat cancer – Il Tirreno

 PISTOIA. Over the course of 2014 thanks to the membership, fundraising at various events and sponsors, the association “7 for you” has collected 7,000 Euros donated to the department Emotologico Hospital of Parma for the purchase of a microscope of the best in use.

 

 On his first birthday, the association created by the friends of Pistoia Matthew Bertolazzi , the unforgettable Captain of the promotion of Pistoia Basket in Legadue, has announced its intention to help the hospital in San Jacopo “game” that every day doctors and health workers fight against diseases linked to lung cancer.

 

 In the presence of the two presidents “7 for you”, Fiorello Toppo (honorary) and Matthew Gori (in office), and other founding members of the association, the doctors Di Lieto, Vannucci, Fabbri have highlighted the important step forward that the Gom (oncologists multidisciplinary group) lung of San Jacopo will do with the software that will be purchased with the proceeds of the solidarity campaign of “7 for you “.

 

 The device is used to capture and store images, integrating and improving the care pathway developed by the Department of Oncology in connection with the Itt. By connecting the four bronchoscopes last generation that came to San Jacopo, the image acquisition software, allow you to see better but also to store and transmit to another hospital in the region, the data of the citizen or patient with doubt or certainty of a diagnosis of lung disease.

 

 Dr Franco Vannucci , Head of Pneumology of San Jacopo, showed that over the past five years have increased lung problems up to the 2014 peak of 138 cases of lung cancers detected.
