A software can measure how "smart" their city: it is developing the University of Naples Federico II, part of the "Smart energy master-For the Government energy of the territory ".
The program will be able to measure the waste, such as if you throw away too much water, or if you use electricity in excess or in illuminating the streets for heating. The system, through this type of measurements and analysis of the socio-economic data local, serve the public administration to improve land management.
Designed by the pool of researchers from the DICeA (Department of Civil Engineering, Building and Environmental) coordinated by Carmela Gargiulo, the project is employing forty engineers, architects dealing with urban transformation, physicists, computer scientists, psychologists and communication experts, almost all under 40. The system is experimental at the time: it works in three densely populated neighborhoods of Naples, or Chiaia, Arenella and Vomero. An audience of 151mila inhabitants and 4 thousand buildings including three hospitals, three museums, a hundred schools and sports center of the stadium necklace.
