It is the Swiss software defined mainframes – 01Net

After five years of work, the Zurich-based L z Labs announced at CeBit its defined software mainframe, pointing to enable a seamless migration of existing mainframe applications to a Linux host and cloud platforms.

L z mainframe Software Defined Labs is ready to be for use in data centers based on technologies Red Hat Linux, both for installation on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

Allows cloud infrastructure and Linux to process thousands of transactions per second, while maintaining the reliability requirements , scalability, maintenance and security.

The solution includes a faithful reconstruction of the online environments, batch and primary database.

How it works

The company has developed Tigurina container management software that provides businesses an effective way to migrate applications from the mainframe to the Linux computer, or from private-sector coud public and hybrids.

When programs legacy are inserted in the container are enhanced to run on modern computers and legacy APIs are replaced.

the solution then enables mainframe executable programs to run without change and to write and read mainframe data in their native formats.

The new environment works without requiring recompilation of the application programs COBOL or PL / 1 and without making complex business environment changes.
