The first half of fiscal Nintendo shows a picture familiar: Wii U hardware sales are low but the software is solid. The Japanese company announced lower profits than in 2014, but sales hardware and software have been positive for both Wii U 3DS.
Between April and September, Nintendo said it sold 1.19 million Wii U and 2.28 million 3DS. Net sales rose from 171 billion to 204 billion yen (1.5 billion euro) in the context of a net profit of 11.45 billion yen (85 million euro). The commercial performance of exclusive games were positive: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Design has sold two million units worldwide; Splatoon has reached 2.4 million and 1.9 million Super Mario Maker.
