Born almost twelve years ago, CCleaner is a software that, over time, has established itself as one of the best for the ‘computer optimization. And not just because it’s free, but above all because it performs its job well, without filling the PC with banner advertising and unwanted. What is your job? To analyze the hard drive in search of unnecessary files that slow it down and take up unnecessary space, and then delete them. Mica little.

Just recently Piriform, the developer, has launched the fifth version of the program: what better opportunity to discover its secrets and understand why it can be really useful for the health of our computer?

As mentioned, Ccleaner you download, for free, from the site official. Here also are the paid versions, which add some features, but the free version has everything you need for a good part of the computer.

In this new, shiny, version 5.0, strikes first the interface clean and simple. The use, however, remains more or less the same: you click on the Analyze (or selecting content to be analyzed, left) and awaits the outcome of the check. Compared to the past, the speed of the operation is improved: in seconds, CCleaner scans the system and returns with a final report that suggests what to delete.

Another click Start cleaning is what you need to delete unnecessary files. A few more seconds is the operation is finished, complete with a final report on the deleted files.

In this function, as usual, adding that analysis of the system log, finding keys and variables dancers who, somehow, bring havoc in our system, making it less fast and stable. In this case just click Log , then Find problems and, if they are detected, to Repair selected .

Compared to previous editions, interface aside, CCleaner shows performance definitely improved and, above all, an analysis system correction and more refined. Considering its cost, zero, is really a “must” for all Windows users. For the more demanding, then, there are two paid versions: the two available, better focus on Professional Plus, which at a cost of 39.95 euro puts on the plate, or rather on the disc, a powerful defragmentation function, a recovery of deleted files and a very thorough analysis hardware.
