Scandal diesel Volkswagen is not the only culprit software – Automoto.it


 “In many cases, a software update will be enough. Some vehicles, however, will require changes in hardware. ” Said the president of the Volkswagen Group Matthias Muller to the more than 20,000 employees of the plant in Wolfsburg who met in a special meeting this morning, about the massive recall campaign that will involve not only the Volkswagen, but also the cars of other brands of the Group equipped with engines 1.6 and 2.0 TDI EA 189 Euro 5 .

Moreover, it remains to understand why the difference between some models that will update the software alone and others that will need to be updated at the level of components.


 


 The solution by the end of October

 


 Both in the US, where the case has started, that in Europe, Volkswagen will present by the end of October the technical solutions and measures that should call into rule diesel engines protagonists of “Dieselgate”. In Europe the action plan of Volkswagen must be examined by the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) , which is the authority for German transport, the same that granted the approval of the vehicles involved today in the scandal.  In Europe, 8 million car recall

 


 Europe circulate 8 of the 11 million cars Volkswagen equipped software to defraud the test on diesel emissions. He revealed to the newspaper Handelsblatt , citing a letter of apology sent by the company to the German parliamentarians of the constituencies in which they are the Volkswagen site.


 


 


 


 Of these, the total number of vehicles using EU5 diesel engine type EA 189 circulating in Italy currently amounts to 648,458 units, as communicated by Volkswagen Italy. Volkswagen would be 361,432, 197,421 Audi, Seat 35,348, 38,966 and 15,291 Skoda, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
