Software and IT services: a field with lights and shadows – TGCOM

From 2012 to now, in fact, the turnover has shown a slight decline year on year, rising from EUR 14.94 billion in the first year considered to 14.75 billion in 2015 (14,815,000 in 2013 and 14.78 billion in 2014).

A trend dictated mostly by the IT services that, in the period covered, showed a series of push-ups: while in 2012 the turnover of IT services amounted to EUR 10.61 billion in fact, the ‘ following year fell to 10.45 billion euro (-1.5%), a 1.2% then affected the 2014, when the turnover stood at 10.33 billion euro and a further decline of 1.3% affect 2015. According to estimates this year the turnover of IT services will amount to 10,200 million.

In contrast, the sector of the software is successful, at least in part, to offset the fall in the industry. In 2012 he appeared, in fact, a turnover of 4.33 billion euro, in 2013 rose 0.8% to 4,365,000, scoring another 1.9%, to 4.447 billion euro, the following year. 2015 should bring a stronger 2.2% and touched the 4,545,000 euro.

We’re still talking about a sector that, despite the last period, now has more than stated on the national territory. In Italy there are about four thousand companies operating in this field, mainly concentrated in the north of the country, and employ about 75 thousand people.
