Berlin (Germany), October 7 (LaPresse / EFE) – The Volkswagen Group today introduced to the German authorities plan to recall the cars involved in the scandal diesel emissions rigged. This was announced by the German Minister of Transport, Alexander Dobrindt , explaining that Volkswagen has met the deadlines by sending today to the Federal Motor Transport Authority “long relationship” with the timetable and the measures taken to remedy the scandal emissions .
The plan is to call the car to the workshop for repairs and modifications to various parts, like the engine. In the case of a 2-liter engines you will need only a software change , but there are additional technical work on the engines of 1.6 liters. In detail, the plan provides for the recall of EUR 5 diesel engines of category 2.0, 1.6 and 1.2 liters. While all engines require a software update, which will be applied from the beginning of next year, those in category 1.6 liters will need additional hardware adjustments that will not take place September 1, 2016.
