Cloud more secure thanks to the agreement with Check Point … – Courier Communications

 BT today announced an agreement with Check Point Software Technologies to incorporate into its global network added security features, enabling customers to securely access the cloud-based applications wherever they are hosted. The new services embedded Cloud Firewall are part of a range of hosted security solutions that are being implemented in the global network of BT to realize the vision of the Cloud of Clouds , as announced last April.

 Since a growing number of applications and workloads are migrated to the cloud infrastructure the private, public and hybrid, customers require an efficient and secure access through a mix of dedicated networks and public and aim to achieve an optimal balance between performance, cost and safety. To better protect their perimeter towards the Internet, BT is now equipping its Internet gateway to the world of more managed security services based on the technology of firewall Check Point 13500 series.

 To improve their capability to integrate cloud services, BT is enhancing the Internet breakout from its global network, at the gateway that are located in the major Internet peering points worldwide. The breakout can be achieved on regional geographic basis, better access to internet facility cloud general, or on the optimized, ie maintaining the on-net traffic and making the breakout to the Internet at a point nearest the destination of the traffic, specific location cloud.
