THE TAKEOVER OF 125 MILLION

Ericsson it has reached an agreement with Envivio , software company specializing in telecommunications, for acquisition of 125 million dollars. Under the terms of Ericsson will pay to shareholders of Envivio a price of $ 4.10 per share, for a takeover that would get to the end before the last quarter of 2015.
Envivio , which is based in California, in San Francisco who specializes in designing and producing software to manage and distribute video based on internet protocol, and will become part of the activities of Ericsson in the TV and media.
Customers of Envivio , for most telcos and content producers, using the company’s software to provide users with the availability of video on any device, from smartphones to PCs. Programs Envivio using tools video compression and network technologies that are able to run on all standard platforms in the industry.
The move to Ericsson goes in the direction already embarked on by the company, which this year changed its characterization and made a series of cuts to staff with the shift from hardware provider to a company specializing in software mobile networks. The cuts were part of a restructuring of the business, which has left the most expensive sector of the hardware to switch to software and services. To prove the fact that in 2004, 73% of the company’s revenue came from the sale of hardware, and only 27% from software and services: a balance which in 2014 started to tip over.
