With the acquisition of UMS, Ascom may use new software and new skills for the management of integrated workflows in the areas of healthcare ICT. UMS LTD is a private company that produces software as a medical device and which is based in Tuscany, in the province of Florence. The company provides software solutions for modular patient care, to digital medical records for patients in critical care. UMS solutions provide support to medical personnel in the care of critically ill patients, addressing shortcomings in the common digital medical records. UMS offers more than 200 dirver integration for medical devices and 1,000 different form of electronic medical record. Ascom has signed an agreement to acquire all shares of the company UMS Ltd. The closing is scheduled for mid-January 2016. All 27 employees will be absorbed and will retain their existing position.
