Volkswagen, California rejects plan to fix software issues – Reuters Italy

12 January (Reuters) – Authorities in California have rejected Volkswagen’s plan to fix software that enables two-liter diesel engines, emissions up to 40 times higher than the legal limit.

The State said that the adjustment proposed not was appropriate or fast enough and that it intends to continue the investigation and interviews with the German company.

At the moment has not issued new fines, but a new policy, according to which Volkswagen has violated the law on air quality in California.

The CEO of the Automotive Group, Matthias Muller, will meet tomorrow Gina McCarthy, head of the Environmental Protection Agency, to discuss the scandal of emissions which impact on almost 600,000 vehicles in the US and up to 11 million worldwide.
