As published by 9to5Mac , Apple is working with a significant software update for its Apple Watch . The new firmware should integrate functionality and enhancements to security, connectivity with other devices, health and fitness, Wi-Fi and integration with third-party applications.

Apple would be working at a function “Find My Watch” which, like other Apple device, should allow you to locate, lock or delete the device in case of theft or bewilderment. Apple would be working on this functionality before the start of the marketing but the implementation in a device “depend on” iPhone would force engineers to consider other solutions.

Given this dependence, implementing Find my Watch should be made by Apple in what is called “ Smart leashing” and that allows Apple Watch to determine its position relative iPhone that is connected by leveraging its wireless signal. In this case, you will be notified in case of slack between the two devices. Additional features, however, require more time and probably new hardware to support that could be integrated into a next generation of Apple Watch.

Apple is also working on the integration of information from third-party applications within the so-called “ Complications ” found in watch faces. Health and fitness, Apple is also testing new ways to tap into the heart rate monitor.

Further developments could be announced by Apple over the next WWDC to be held in June to San Francisco.
