Radeon Software Crimson with the bug, AMD promises a fix – Tom’s Hardware

The new drivers Radeon Crimson Software AMD integrate many new features, including a control panel more responsive and intuitive. There are many users who use them with satisfaction, however some have emerged problems potentially serious .

On Reddit appeared testimonials from people complaining about the presence of a bug that blocks the fan speed of the cooling system at low speed (between 10/20% of the laps) for long periods of time, even in the presence of loads which would require a high air flow. The fans run at fixed speed then , never reaching the high revolutions required to handle heavy loads such as gaming.

As a result, the temperature of the GPU and other components rises to very high levels , leading to artifacts, blocks and in the most unfortunate, then tear the card. The mere consolation in this story is that AMD has identified the problem and will issue a software fix in the coming hours to solve it.

The story of the video card drivers is full of bugs related to the management of the fan controllers not represent a first and in the past have affected as much as Nvidia AMD.
